England and America: two countries divided by a common language.

what is YOUR view of this quote? Is it accurate? Could the possible 'misunderstanding' of expression, verbal meaning, set us both on the road to huge conflict as before? Or does it ultimately bring us closer together with positive results?

Also, although I have listed the source as being Shaw, were there other great men who said these words?

But mainly, does this quote still hold some relevance?

As a Brit I would have to say this quote only works one way. Thanks to movies, music and TV most Brits understand the idiosyncrasies of the American language and culture but this doesn't necessarily work the other way around
